Jos O.
My name is Jos, I am 29 years old and have just moved here from my home in Scotland. I am an extremely responsible, caring, patient and attentive individual with a background with and deep love for all animals. I take a lot of pride and pleasure in getting to know each animal’s individual personality and needs to building a relationship with them so they can feel a deep sense of care and trust between us. I am very patient and loving and would be excited to use these qualities to get to know a new pet and help put them entirely at ease in the absence of their owner, which I am aware can be challenging for some pets.
I have been a personal assistant in the home-studio of a private business owner for over 7 years now and one of my responsibilities here was caring for, playing, feeding, walking her two wonderful dogs (large breeds, ages 10 and 2). Responsibility, affection and a keen level of attention was key to this role (especially as one of the dog was a bit of a food thief/escape artist!). I also have been a seasonal drop-in carer for a multitude of cats and dogs among people I know personally or have been referred to through friends. in the season or work-life absence of their owners. At home, I played a large role in caring for our family dog, who at the end of her years was a senior blind and timid pup with anxiety, forgetfulness and epilepsy, which required daily medication. Similarly, I have helped care for a young dog with intense destructive based separation anxiety. Though I have no formal training in pet care or certifications, I have all the transferable qualities to make me an extremely loving and reliable pet-sitter. If you would like more detail on my experience or think I might be a good fit, I’m always happy to chat!
I have no formal education/certification in pet care, but all the transferable skills to make me an excellent drop-in or overnight pet sitter.
