John L.
I'm a pretty calm, low-key person and honestly animals tend to respond well to that. I've had cats my whole life so being around pets just feels natural to me. I'm a homebody, I'm patient, and I don't need constant activity to be comfortable, which I think matters a lot when you're looking after someone's pet in their space. I take routines seriously and I'm the kind of person who notices when something's a little off, whether that's a pet acting differently or something in the environment that doesn't seem right. I'm a gamer and a pretty quiet person overall, so hanging out with a pet while their owner is away is genuinely not a hardship for me.
No paid experience in pet care but I've had cats my whole life, including my own cat Kuma who I've been taking care of since he was 3 and is now around 12-13 years old. Taking care of a senior cat means paying closer attention to their habits, health changes, and comfort needs so I'm used to that level of attentiveness. I'm calm and patient by nature which tends to go over well with animals. I'm reliable, I show up when I say I will, and if given specific instructions for a pet I'll follow them and reach out if anything seems off.
