Okay I’m going to get a little sappy here but bare with me; I grew up with dogs in the family my entire life and always had a strong bond with them, but I think my love for animals changed and grew in a special way after caring for my childhood dog through his most difficult end stages of life through the early months of 2020, and it made me even more aware of how important every little scratch and snuggle is to our pets. To me, pet sitting is more rewarding than “just a job” or “a little extra cash” because it’s also an opportunity to make another persons pet feel safe, happy, and loved while they are away from their family, and in the short lives that our pets have, I think that’s priceless.
Aside from my time with dogs, I also have experience with cats, and small animals such as gerbils, birds, and fish. I also fostered a bunny in spring/summer of 2020 until she was able to be relocated to a sanctuary, so I’m quite familiar with them as well!
Some more info that might be important for pets that would be staying with me:
I live in a spacious walkout basement suite (no stairs) with complete access to a grassy, fully fenced yard, in a quiet neighbourhood that is well suited for walks.
I look forward to hearing from you :)
I have experience caring for dogs of all ages, including aging dogs who may need a little extra help. I also have experience caring for cats, bunnies, birds, and other small pets such as gerbils, fish, etc.
