Family profile: Parents are typically either at work or working from home. There are two kids – one girl that is 4 years old and is in school between 8:30 – 3:30. The second child is a boy that is 8 months and will be in daycare starting August 27, 2023. The second child is in daycare between 7:30 – 4:30. Given that the children are both in daycare and school, the nanny is expected to show flexibility in her hours whereby will often be relied to work on weekends to make up hours that she is not working during the weekday after completing her chores and household tasks. The employer will negotiate weekend days that she will require to be off work ahead of time. The family is often send to foreign country for work and the nanny should be flexible to be ready to move with the family as needed.
Start date: August / September 2023 End date: 3 year agreement
Contract: The nanny will be expected to sign a contract and a privacy agreement. The nanny will be automatically dismissed for the following reasons:
• Smoking or alcohol/ any other substance consumption in the home
• Visitors on the premises
• Any safety concerns for the children, family or home
• Dishonesty, theft and aggressive behaviour
Childcare duties:
• Support on weekdays for the morning – help with breakfast, dressing kids for school and daycare, and tidying up after in the kitchen, main area and bedrooms.
• Support on weekdays for the evening –help with dinner, bath-time, snack before beds, and tidying up kitchen and main areas.
• On weekends / holidays when the nanny is working she will support the family as needed with meal times, play, walks and activities with the children. This can include reading, doing arts and crafts, or taking the kids to the park or for a walk or play in the backyard.
Household duties:
• Cleaning – this should be done on weekdays when the family is at work or school. This includes: laundry, bathrooms, dusting, baseboards/cabinets, vacuum and mop. There will be a schedule provided to the nanny to follow with tasks divided through the week.
• Organizing –the nanny should support in organizing and keeping pantry and storage areas neat. The nanny should also support in making sure toys and closets are kept neat and clean and help in folding clothes and arranging things in a neat and organized manner.
• Bathrooms and kitchen area—The nanny should ensure that the bathrooms and kitchen area are clean, dry and sanitized frequently.
Meals:
• The nanny will be showed how to prepare meals and will follow recipes.
• The nanny should work with food carefully and ensure that she is cooking with care, using gloves and hygiene practices.
• There is no pork or pork by products allowed in the home.
• The nanny must clean up and sanitize kitchen area after meal preparation.
• The nanny ensure that the fridge pantry and cabinet areas are clean and organized. Items are put in their place and stored properly and neatly.
Nanny living arrangement:
• The nanny will be provided a bedroom and bathroom. She must ensure that it is kept tidy and clean at all times.
• The nanny will have a TV and access to a Netflix account. The nanny will have access to Wi-Fi password but must ensure that her screening is appropriate.
Expectation and Requirements:
• The nanny must be committed, experienced, flexible and reliable.
• The nanny must have a proven track record and come with references, and vulnerability check.
• The nanny must demonstrate initiative and flexibility given that the family’s children are most outside the home so on weekends she must be available to support. The nanny can also be asked to move with the family and that is a consideration for this role.
• The nanny must not discipline the children and inform the parents of any bad behaviour or safety issues with the children.
• The nanny is required to ensure that she is not allowed visitors in the house. All time-off has to be discussed and approved by the employer.
• The nanny is not allowed to take pictures of the children, the home or the premises. The nanny is not allowed to introduce the children to strangers, or others. She must ensure that in public the children are kept within eye-sight and are her responsibility.
• The nanny must have good work ethic and discretion for family’s privacy.
