Part-time House Manager (Weekdays) — Alta Vista, Ottawa ABOUT US We are a busy family of four in Alta Vista: two working parents, two girls (ages 6 and 3), and a friendly goldendoodle. We’re seeking a reliable, detail-oriented part-time house manager to help keep our home clean, organized, and running smoothly. Occasional pet care is required, and there may be opportunities for optional babysitting or childcare at an hourly rate outside regular hours. POSITION DETAILS Role: Part-time House Manager Schedule: Weekdays only (5 days/week), 3.5 hours per day — either mornings or afternoons (flexible; we will agree on a regular schedule) Location: Alta Vista neighbourhood, Ottawa Start date: Flexible Employment type: Part-time, hourly Compensation: $22–$28 per hour depending on experience and responsibilities. Optional childcare or babysitting outside regular hours available at an additional hourly rate (to be agreed upon). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Daily tidying and upkeep of the home (kitchen, living areas, bathrooms, bedrooms) - Laundry: washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothing and linens - Maintain and follow a routine cleaning schedule for deeper tasks (e.g., fridge/oven cleaning, decluttering, seasonal tasks) - Organizing and resetting spaces to keep the home orderly throughout the week - Occasional grocery pickup/organizing - Occasional pet care for our goldendoodle (feeding, letting out, short dog walks as needed) - Communicate proactively about supplies needed, tasks completed, and any issues that arise - Occasional childcare or babysitting outside scheduled hours is a plus (paid separately) QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS - Proven experience managing household duties for busy families (references required) - Police reference check (required) — must be provided before starting - Strong organization, time-management, and attention to detail - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision - Comfortable around pets; able to handle light pet care duties including short walks - Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy; professional and respectful demeanor - Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is an asset but not required
