House Keeper
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated House Keeper to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential assistance to individuals in need of care, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. You will work closely with clients in a Home Care setting. Your contributions will be vital in enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities who want the opportunity to stay in their homes. We are looking for a House Keeper who have the ability to work in Ottawa Region. Responsibilities Dusting around placed objects on furniture and shelf surfaces. Vacuuming designated carpeted surfaces Machine washing and drying, folding clothes and placing folded clothes in a basket, stripping laundry of bed linens and remaking beds. Homemakers will help clients with ordering groceries online only if the clients lack the necessary computer skills, and all groceries will be delivered by the grocery store. Opening cans, peeling and cutting vegetables and other simple tasks as required by client in order to assist them to be able to prepare their own meals Removing items from the fridge and or washing interior and exterior surfaces ( approx 3x per year per client) Removal of burners to clean burner trays and replace foil. Washing interior and exterior surfaces ( Approx. 3x per year per client) Washing counters and sink. Wiping down of large appliances ( exterior) and small appliances ( exterior and interior). Removal of burners to clean burner trays. Wash sink and sink counter. Wash bathtub interior and exterior. Wash interior and exterior toilet surfaces and mirror. Remove linens and replace with fresh linens. Make beds sweep uncarpeted floor surfaces, wash uncarpeted floor surfaces using products that are suitable for flooring type. You may need to clean larger mirrors, take out garbage, help sort ad or organize items, replace seasonal clothing items in cupboards. When general unkept has not been performed on a regular basis and a more in depth cleaning is needed ( ex. someone has been hospitalized for 2 months) Observe, report and document to the appropriate managers any changes in patients physical and emotional condition. Requirements Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of dementia care and senior care practices is highly desirable. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with Residents, families, and healthcare professionals. Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Must be able to pass background checks as required by company policies.
