Alicja B.
I have always enjoyed cleaning as long as I can remember. I was 5 years old when I used to follow my grandmother around her house and help her with the dusting. I would also watch the Saturday morning cartoons and dust the living room to help my mom. I started working in home care (WRHA) as a Home Support Worker at the age of 20. It involved cleaning and doing laundry in clients' houses, apartments and assisted living facilities. The cleaning entailed vacuuming, mopping floors, dusting, cleaning the bathroom and kitchen areas as well as taking out the garbage. Doing the laundry and changing bed linen was a part of the job. I also provided bulk meal prep and respites. I was employed there for 22 years. It taught me a lot of patience and empathy. It was a very rewarding career. For 3 years, I worked as a caregiver to a 43 year old lady who was bedridden with Multiple Sclerosis. It involved sponge bathing her in bed, rotating her and transferring her into a Hoyer lift. I was also responsible for her household cleaning and laundry, caring for her 2 cats and a bearded dragon! I cooked all her meals and cut up her food. I have 2 years experience in commercial cleaning. It was voluntary work done at my dad's industrial electric shop. I also volunteered at my brother in law's sprinkler fitting business. I cleaned offices, the bathroom, swept the shop floor and vacuumed with a shop vac. (regular vacuum as well) I mopped floors and cleaned the lunch room. I have plenty of babysitting experience. Both of my siblings are 10 plus years younger than me. I helped care for them when I was teenager - as well as my cousins. I also took care of our neighbor's two children. I have been working as an Educational Assistant for 5 months. I really enjoy it! It's been a great learning experience. I am a volunteer at our church's daycare on Sundays. (Looking after children ages 18 months to 3 years!) I immigrated to Canada from Poland at the age of 8. I've spent most of my life here. I am married but we don't have any children. My husband and I run our church's Pickleball Club once a week. It is a lot of fun. I would really recommend anyone to try it. I love spending time outdoors. And with family. I enjoy bike riding, hiking and camping. I also have a great love for animals! I am compassionate, honest, friendly, reliable and hard working. **Criminal Background Check is up to date as well as Child/Vulnerable Persons Sector Check. I have a CPR Certificate. I hold a WHMIS certificate.
