My name is Karissa, I'm 20 years old and originally from New zealand. I'm currently in Vancouver bc and just moved from Sydney where I was an aupair for the past 2 and a half years. And am now looking for my next adventure as an aupair in Canada, i'm available to start asap! I'm a calm, responsible and caring person, very patient and organised. I genuinely enjoy spending time with children and creating a safe, fun and loving environment. I also enjoy cooking and baking, and I'm happy to help with kids' laundry and light household duties related to childcare. What makes me stand out from others is that I have a can do attitude, and that I’m confident, out going, and very passionate in what I do. Im also strong, hard working, know what I want to do and will strive to get to my goal, I love challenges, and love working with children so i volunteered as a Girl Guide leader which I've grown up being a Girl Guide myself, I also decided to become a swim teacher and teach 1 year Olds up back in NewZealand. in my free time I love to hang out with friends as I am a very social outgoing person. I also love to spend my time outdoors from going on hikes to going to the beach, I love painting and all things music. To find a loving family who is willing to help me to become apart of their family, who is willing to teach me the routines and structures of the family. For me to support in anyway possible so the parents/guardians can focus on there work, and feel comfortable with my care. I have a up to date Working With Children’s Check, and police check ( from Australia ) first aid and cpr certificates and a full NewZealand drivers license and have a valid visa to work and live in Canada for 2 years I have strong experience with children, having worked as an au pair in Sydney for six lovely families. I've cared for children aged from 11 months to 13 years old, including full-day care, school routines, meal preparation, playtime, bath time and bedtime. During this time I have also been lucky to babysit for many other families with children ages 5 months - 14 years. I feel I have a nack understanding children’s needs, and can get down to the kids level and don’t mind getting muddy with them, as long as they are having fun. And how they make me feel complete knowing I’m doing a great job as they love being with me, the smiles and laughter says it all. I have grown up as a Girl Guide, I have been volunteering for 4 years from 2020 and had a fantastic rapport with all the girls I taught. I was also a Swim Teacher and taught children aged 1 - around 12 I have also had experience looking after twin girls for 4 years and worked for a family with 3 children aged 2, 4, 7.
