Lucy M.
My name is Lucy. I am a culinary management graduate of George Brown College. I am 32 years old and have been working in the hospitality industry for over ten years. I have several years experience working with children of all ages, adults and the elderly. After graduating high school I embarked upon a nine month volunteer program, Katimavik. Through Katimavik I had volunteer placements in schools, nursing homes, soup kitchens, billeting with local families and much more. It was through these experiences that I discovered my love of cooking. After graduating culinary school I have worked in several different kitchen settings including fine dining restaurants, bakeries, pubs, as well as catering events and weddings. Along with cooking and working with children as a full time nanny this past year I have also taken on a few house keeping jobs. I take great pride in cleaning and organizing with special attention to details. I am friendly, compassionate, hospitable and very hard working. I approach every experience with an open mind and a willingness to learn. I am happy to provide references upon request. I look forward to hearing from you.
I have personally always been a very clean and tidy person. After graduating culinary school and working in many restaurants I was able to see firsthand how important cleanliness and organization are in properly maintaining and running a kitchen. I feel that this is also true for managing an entire household. 3 years ago I had taken it upon myself to start helping neighbours with organizing, cleaning and even meal preparation for nightly meals and special events. I have since worked in many households cleaning for several families. I take great pride in my work paying close attention to detail.
