As a Filipino Canadian living in Canada for over ten years, I began my journey as a live-in nanny, live-caregiver, private caregiver, managing a household and providing childcare. For three straight years, I worked for the same family, significantly enriching my experience. Besides childcare, my responsibilities organically extended to housekeeping, something I perform even now, not just out of duty, but because it instills a sense of familiarity. While weekends provide me respite from an extremely busy schedule, I find peace in housekeeping tasks. Though my clientele is not vast, I take pride in having served a few clients consistently over a prolonged period. I am also employed full time in a mainly sedentary office job, explaining my continued indulgence in physically demanding housekeeping tasks for the extra income and physical exercise. Supported by regular clients willing to provide references, my reliable and quality service augment both my income and self-fulfillment. Thus, engaging in housekeeping tasks have proved rewarding on both personal and financial fronts.
