My name is Jos, I’m 29, and am a kind, passionate and enthusiastic person, from Scotland. I recently moved to Montreal and am looking to secure immediate part-time or full-time work. I am fully-flexible and always available to chat and answer any questions! I am a very warm and friendly individual with excellent communication skills and I aim to always bring a truly personal and authentic approach to all my work. I am extremely responsible, conscientious and detail-oriented individual and take great pleasure in organising and creating a welcoming and pleasant environment for others. Coming from a background of a working single-parent family with small children and many pets, I have an intimate awareness of the multitude of personal obligations and day-to-day responsibilities, such as childcare, that can consume someone’s busy schedule. As such, I would like to work in this sector as I would be delighted to coordinate in a way that feels comfortable and profitable to the individual to help ease some of these responsibilities. Assisting to bring a sense of calm and ease into someone’s life, even in a small way, would bring me great pleasure. I also have a personal fondness of children and pets. I have a much younger sister (age 7) and have grown up with many pets, both dogs and cats. I love all animals and children and greatly appreciate the joy and refreshing nature they can bring into my life.
I possess over 7 years in hospitality, 7 years in home studio management/housekeeping and a brief background in childminding/basic housekeeping. Though I do not have any formal long-term experience thus far in private home/commercial housekeeping, I have individually carried out many practical and administrative responsibilities pertaining to deep-cleaning, organising and managing that are very transferable to a role in private housekeeping. Over 7 years as Bar supervisor and studio manager, I have shown great responsibility and initiative, excellent time management and ability to prioritise and complete all tasks independently. I routinely served as the sole member of staff on-site responsible for the security and upkeep of the premises; maintaining a clean, well-organised and fully operational workplace. In addition, I would frequently undertake daily deep-cleaning responsibilities of the premises. This included but was not limited to; filing/stock conduction and office organisation, cleaning of all internal and immediate external areas, including bathrooms and public spaces, dusting, hoovering, mopping and varnishing floors, washing dishes/kitchen, and cultivating a welcoming environment that is enjoyable for staff and customers alike. I have also routinely supervised work persons/contractors and taken care of the household pets. My current visa does not allow me to take up a position in childminding, however, in my 6 month service as a private childminder I also demonstrated great responsibility and an adaptable, patient and warm nature throughout. In addition to watching and caring for young children, this role involved minding and caring for peoples homes, performing basic cleaning, linen changing, washing and meal preparation and presence at mealtimes.
