Rachael R.
I am the youngest of three sisters. I'm originally from New Brunswick, but I've been living in Alberta for 15 years. During this time, I've worked in healthcare, acquiring experience in various roles. I thrive in environments that require continuous activity and exceptional organization. In my past work, I've learned to manage my time effectively, ensuring every task on a checklist is completed to the highest standard. I understand that in housekeeping, consistency is key—arriving on time and doing the job right every single time. I'm a quick learner when it comes to specific cleaning protocols, and I truly enjoy the satisfaction of transforming a space to make it better for the people using it. I'm available to start work immediately and would prefer a living-out arrangement with either part-time or full-time hours.
Although my experience does not include working for a cleaning company, my healthcare background has included housekeeping duties as part of my professional responsibilities. I will include the housekeeping duties I performed daily at work. In-home care, the priority is usually the areas the client uses most. This ensures their immediate environment is hygienic and safe. -Kitchen Care: Washing dishes, wiping down counters, cleaning the inside of the microwave, and ensuring no expired food is lurking in the fridge. -Bathroom Sanitization: Scrubbing the toilet, sink, and shower/tub. Because many clients have weakened immune systems, preventing mould and bacteria buildup is a health priority. -Floor Maintenance: Sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming, particularly in walkways, to prevent slips and trips. -Laundry and Linens Proper laundry care is vital for skin health, especially for clients with limited mobility. -Bed Stripping: Changing bed sheets weekly (or as needed) to prevent pressure sores or skin irritation. -Personal Laundry: Washing, drying, folding, and—most importantly—putting clothes away where the client can easily reach them. -Clutter Management: Keeping "transfer paths" (the walk from the bed to the bathroom, for example) clear of cords, rugs, or debris. -Waste Removal: Taking out the trash and recycling regularly to prevent odours and pests. -Supply Monitoring: Keeping an eye on cleaning supplies and toiletries so you can alert the family or agency when things run low. -Dusting surfaces and electronics. -Watering plants. -Wiping down high-touch points like doorknobs, walkers, and remote controls.
