Hello! My name is Kris! Cooking for large groups of people brings a lot of joy to me as I know it is often bringing folks together to share conversations, time with each other and making their tummies and spirits happy! I also really love the entire process of cooking and crafting a heartfelt meal! . Recently, over the past few months I have been working at Unadilla Community farm in upstate New York, where we provide free/sliding scale veggies to the population of West Edmonston. My role was the vegan chef and I led a group of farm hand interns in the kitchen to cook meals for our entire farm team (up to 17 people) everyday. As the chef I was in-charge of preparing, harvesting, foraging, leading/teaching, cooking, cleaning and restock of inventory. I was also working with limited resources; only in season farm fresh vegetables, vegan, limited seasonings, flours etc and no electricity (off grid farm) so I had to think really creatively and make the best with what I have. I always strive to be a team player who can communicate in a fashion that is direct and compassionate. I am super bubbly and always try and make sure that any environment I am in…everyone feels safe and welcomed! I am bilingual, I have a PSA certificate (Produce Safety alliance)(FSMA training), responsible, care about safety and cleanliness.
I have experience working at resilience Montreal in the kitchen where we make meals for the houseless population by Atwater! I have 5 years experience working in restaurants and cafes!
