Austin Z.
I'm a professionally trained chef with a passion for creating nourishing, thoughtful meals that bring people together. After years working in some of Ontario’s top kitchens-from high-end hotels to busy gastropubs and retirement residences-I’ve come to value not just great food, but the role it plays in supporting people’s lives and routines. My partner Melissa and I live in Toronto, and when I’m not cooking, you can usually find us outside-whether it's paddling on the water, hiking, or exploring local markets. I bring the same calm, focused energy I find in nature into the kitchen, where I love planning menus, working with fresh ingredients, and helping families feel cared for through every meal.
My background includes 11 years of experience in fast-paced, high-standard culinary environments such as Prenup Pub, Fairmont Chateau Laurier, and luxury retirement residences like Delmanor Corporation. These roles required a high level of organization, precision, and the ability to adapt to specific dietary needs—including preparing meals for individuals with allergies and dietary restrictions. At Delmanor, I regularly prepared hundreds of meals per day while maintaining quality and personalization, which closely aligns with the planning and consistency needed in a private home. I’ve also developed and executed menus, performed grocery and inventory management, and catered to events ranging from intimate dinners to large family gatherings—all skills that will translate directly to supporting your family’s daily meals and special occasions. My formal training at Le Cordon Bleu and George Brown College has given me a strong foundation in food safety, nutrition, and classical technique, and I pride myself on being reliable, respectful, and responsive to individual preferences.
