Paytton L.
My name is Paytton and I’m a professional chef who is looking for work experience to build up my personal portfolio to start my dream of having my own catering company. I am Spanish bilingual, and have received my Diploma of Spanish Language Arts after completing 15 years of bilingual schooling. Although I’m a recent SAIT graduate, I have a fair amount of culinary experience under my belt. My mother was one of the co-owners of Culinary Kids/Kitchen, which was a youth based culinary school in Avenida. From a young age, I was working with her in the kitchen, being her little sous chef for the classes. Since then, cooking has been one of the only passions I’ve stuck with. Going to SAIT has opened up so many experiences for me, from being the first student to form a partnership contract for future internships between SAIT and the Hyatt Regency, to managing an exclusive event for Emirates VIPS, to where I am now doing private catering. I’ve been lucky enough to have travelled all over the world, which has exposed me to so much rich culture, cuisine and delicious foods. My passion for travel has been hand in hand with my passion for cooking, as I love exploring and trying new things. My dream is to start my own catering business with my mom and work alongside her again. Hopefully one day I’m in a position to give back to her for everything she’s ever done for me. I look forward to hopefully speaking with you! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions at all!
Since going to SAIT for Culinary Arts, I have worked all over the industry doing events (banquet, cooperate, and private home), worked on the line, in prep kitchens, summer camps, among the vast amount of experimental cooking I do in my own kitchen at home. I’m more than happy to provide a list of references and locations for where I’ve previously worked.
