This is a unique ad, and a great deal for the right person as we are looking to negotiate an exchange of services for reduced or possibly free housing. We live in midtown (Eglington and Bathurst) in a large home with extra bedrooms. We currently employ separate people to help with cooking, cleaning and childcare (1 child, 3 years old). We also have a dog and cat. Our needs have changed and I would love to find someone with some flexibility to help out around the house, mostly freeing up some of my meal prep time so I can spend more time with our child and it was suggested to me that there may be someone out there who would love an opportunity like this given the cost of housing these days. We have some experience navigating this type of arrangement with a live-in nanny, (and live-out chef) so that clear boundaries and expectations can be managed. We could be creative with the hours so that you could be available to earn extra income working elsewhere knowing your housing costs are covered here. I’m targeting this ad to those with culinary skills since we are highly organized around meal prep/cooking and really appreciate others who share a love of good food, but are open to other backgrounds that might make this work. We are adventurous and healthy eaters without a list of restrictive requirements, which I’m told are lovely circumstances for a creative cook. As you can appreciate, we’d want to take some safety precautions in finding the right person given our little one, and can offer you some assurances about who we are too.
