We are seeking a compassionate, dependable full-time live-in companion for my husband, who is a senior living with Parkinson’s disease. The role combines medical support and household assistance in a calm, home-based environment. Schedule: - Weekend coverage is essential - Weekday evenings are preferred, days and hours are flexible and can be arranged to suit your availability - This position includes on-site housing, making it a wonderful opportunity for someone seeking both meaningful work and a stable living arrangement Primary Responsibilities: - Provide daily personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toilet assistance - Assist with mobility, transfers, and lifting (heavy lifting is required) - Assist during overnight hours as required — **this is not a graveyard or sleepless shift, but rather being available in case of falls or nighttime needs** - Offer companionship and support - Accompany to medical appointments and outings (a valid driver’s license is required; you may use our vehicles for work-related driving) - Perform light household duties such as laundry, housekeeping, meal planning, and preparation - the ability or willingness to learn to cook is a huge asset - Provide pet care as needed Qualifications: - Experience working with seniors or individuals with Parkinson’s (or willingness to learn) - Physically capable of patient transfers and mobility support - Valid driver’s license - Compassionate, patient, and trustworthy demeanour - Comfortable with light household management and pets Compensation: - Wage will be determined based on experience, skill set, and the accommodation provided. - If this sounds like a good fit, we’d love to hear from you:)
