Assist 99 year old woman start and finish her day
We are seeking a compassionate and responsible individual to assist our 99-year-old mother with her daily activities and personal needs. Our pleasant mother recently sustained a fall resulting in hip surgery from which she is still recovering. She has limited mobility and experiences both visual and hearing impairments, requiring assistance with her daily routine, that includes being dressed, fed and cared for in the morning before she embarks on her day. She does engage in several social activities at local senior centers twice a week and also enjoys quiet days at home. Our primary caregiver, my sister who is awaiting knee replacement surgery, needs additional support given her compromised mobility. This has opened up an opportunity for a caring individual to step in and help our mother start and end her day with dignity. Working hours would mainly be in the mornings and evenings from Monday to Friday, totaling less than 20 hours a week. The responsibilities will include assisting with bed baths, dressing and grooming, toileting, and conducting range of motion exercises to maintain flexibility and muscle strength. Experience or willingness to work with the elderly who have visual or hearing impairments, or who are incontinent, is crucial. Please note that a driver's license or automobile use is not required for this role, and although we are looking for a live-out person, we are flexible with the logistics for the right individual - full-time or part- time. The preferred start date will be no later than 08.07.2025. If you consider yourself patient, empathetic, responsible and are willing to provide the level of personal care and companionship that our mother needs, we would love to hear from you. Applications from those who respect the importance and the sanctity of this role are especially welcome.
