About the Role -------------- We are seeking reliable, long-term live-out caregivers for a C5 quadriplegic client who uses a power wheelchair. This is a critical support role requiring dependability and compassion. Client Profile: 6'2", 75kg male living with wife and infant child Duties & Responsibilities * Colostomy bag care and maintenance * External catheter changes * Shower assistance * Clothing changes * Safe transfers between wheelchair and bed using Hoyer/floor lift * Light housekeeping, laundry, and cleaning * Meal preparation * Range of motion exercises * Occasional childcare duties if you're up for it (extra hours) Schedule & Location ---------------------- Morning Shift: 6:30 AM - 9:30 AM (7 days/week) Evening Shift: 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM (7 days/week) Multiple caregivers will be hired to cover these shifts. Most likely someone covering the evening shift would not be the same person doing morning shift and vice-versa. I can also offer you 30 hours a week if you live close enough and agree to cover majority of the shifts. Location: Near 5840 Oak St, Vancouver, BC (13-minute walk from Oakridge SkyTrain Station) What We're Looking For ----------------------- Essential Qualities: Reliability is non-negotiable - The client has a demanding full-time job and cannot afford no-shows or last-minute cancellations Physical fitness and strength for safe transfers and mobility assistance Professional understanding of caregiver-client boundaries and responsibilities Organized, responsible, and detail-oriented approach Calm, friendly demeanor suitable for a family environment with an infant Experience: Previous caregiving experience preferred, OR willingness to learn with training provided Comfort with medical care tasks (colostomy, catheter care) MANDATORY Requirements ✓ Valid SIN number and Canadian work authorization ✓ Criminal record check and references ✓ Fluent English (speaking and comprehension) ✓ Must accept payroll payment (cash payments NOT available) ✓ Transportation Reliability: Double-check your ability to commit to these early morning (6 AM) and late night (11 PM) shifts.
