I’m a quadriplegic woman in my 30s with two amazing kids. I’m currently seeking a compassionate, reliable, and creative personal care assistant to join our team and help our family thrive. I’m a university student who mostly studies from home, but I do have some on campus activities this year - with more on campus requirements next year. I’m looking for someone who can grow with us — someone who’s flexible, self-motivated, and truly invested in making everyday life smoother, easier, and more joyful. I prefer to hire candidates who have long term potential because my staff truly become part of the family. About the Job: You will work in my home. This is a position that requires flexible hours. Potential working hours are anywhere between 6 am - 2 pm, 3 - 11 pm ($22 - $25/hr) - weekdays and weekends. You will be paid every two weeks by cheque. This is not a cash job. Who You Are: You're a dependable, proactive person with a strong work ethic. Someone who has a relatively short commute to me (less than 10km) You're an excellent multitasker and a natural problem solver. You're physically capable of transferring me (I weigh approximately 85 lbs) safely in and out of my wheelchair. You’re organized and have a keen eye for efficiency — whether in home routines, errands, or helping manage a busy family household. You’re warm, respectful, and comfortable working in an environment that requires a high degree of trust and communication. Experience in caregiving is great, but certification (PSW, RPN, etc.) is not required. Responsibilities include: All aspects of personal care - Transferring (manual transfers as I do not have a lift - you must be strong enough to lift 40kg) Assisting with childcare housekeeping and home organization Meal prep and planning Errands and general support Personal care including bladder and bowel routines Occasionally coming with me to appointments Occasionally traveling with me on overnight trips outside the city This Is More Than a Job: This is a highly relational role — trust, communication, and flexibility are key.
