Mom is currently being cared for by long term care staff and we need a person to advocate for her and be a liaison between family and staff. Required to help get my Mom’s day started. 9:00AM to 12:00PM each day. 5 days a week with some flexibility. Help with morning “up and out of bed”. May need to perform or assist bathroom duties, wash up, grooming and getting dressed. Wheelchair to eating area and visiting like a friend. Ensuring breakfast and medications are taken. Needs in her room such as any laundry sorting, straightening up, drinking water needs, reading to Mom, watching TV and wheelchair walks.

I am currently seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dedicated full-time Live-In Caregiver for my 79-year-old mother who has been diagnosed with mild dementia. Even though she is self-reliant to a certain degree, she occasionally experiences bouts of confusion and could use some assistance. Given her cultural background, I would greatly appreciate a caregiver of Indian descent, preferably Gujarati, who can avail themselves throughout the week, specifically every morning, evening, and night (except midday on weekdays when she attends the local senior center). Despite her regular routine at the senior center from 9:30 am - 2:30 pm on weekdays, I am particularly concerned about her wellbeing during the night and early in the morning when her confusion tends to intensify. The successful applicant should have a valid driver’s license as they may be required to use the family car for job-related tasks. The role involves planning various recreational activities such as outings and visits to neighbors, friends, and family members to keep her engaged. Alzheimer/Dementia Care is a significant aspect of this role and requires supervision at home to ensure her safety and comfort. This full-time position demands a commitment of more than 50 hours per week, and we are eager to have the position filled immediately. Having previous experience working with dementia patients will be beneficial for carrying out these responsibilities efficiently. She often forgets to eat so she will need assistance with meal planning and preparation too. It's crucial to note that she will benefit more from a companion who is patient, understanding, and has experience or is willing to work with individuals living with dementia.
