I'm seeking a companion for my mother, who's a senior woman living with dementia. Although dementia scars her everyday life, she does not require nursing and cherishes her independence. The chosen candidate must have a valid driver's license and be willing to use their own car for accompanying her to appointments, grocery shopping, and other errands. The preferred start date is immediate. A part-time commitment is ideal, with expected working hours ranging from 20 to 30 per week. This typically includes every morning from Monday to Sunday. You're not expected to live-in, making this a live-out position perfect for locals or those who prefer to commute. The core responsibilities would revolve around providing companionship and ensuring her comfort. This includes offering grooming assistance, such as bathing and dressing; supervising other tasks in the house, like cleaning the bathroom and washing the dishes; helping with laundry; and even assisting with pet care. She often forgets to eat so she will need assistance with meal planning and preparation too. It's crucial to note that she will benefit more from a companion who is patient, understanding, and has experience or is willing to work with individuals living with dementia.
