Looking for a Caregiver for a senior couple living in Markham. 2 to 3 hours daily work . Husband is 89 and wife is 82. They already have PSW's coming to help them. They would like help in:
-Assisting with meal preparation - cutting vegetables.
- Filing and emptying the dishwasher
-Assisting with transferring to chair lift .
- Laundry
- House cleaning including bathrooms
- Doing grocery shopping
- Other responsibilities as they arise.
- Personal hygiene tasks if they arise in the future. (Although right now PSW does most of this)
My parents situation is a little unique. They have a basement apartment:
2 bedrooms with kitchen, bathroom, dishwasher, laundry and a private entrance and room for a car in the garage. They are looking to rent the apartment to the caregiver at a subsidized rate and have the caregiver work 3 hours/day. The caregiver would be free to work part time elsewhere. Looking for an experienced caregiver for my 95 year old grandfather. Looking for someone who can work 8 hours and up too 12 hour shifts. Sometimes we are looking for over night availability but would not be every night.
We're looking for someone to start as early as 7:30am preferably Monday to Friday but we can discuss.
He mainly needs supervision and ambulatory assistance.
We provide all meals and snacks as he has dietary restrictions and sensitivities. We arrange all medication in his blister pack so just supervision.
We are of West Indian background and speak only English.
