We are a loving English/Mandarin/Cantonese bilingual family seeking a reliable and compassionate Senior / Health Care provider for our 60-year-old mother, who is warm and kind, with a small and thin figure but strong and big at heart. She is recovering steadily from a stroke, expecting to be able to walk again within 1-2 years. I am a mathematician, and my wife is a physiotherapist. We both work from home. This is either a full-time or part-time live-out role, based on preference, ensuring adequate care is provided during specified hours. Your schedule will include mornings/afternoons and evenings from Monday to Sunday, spanning approximately 30 - 50 hours per week. Given the nature of this role, you are expected to deliver various responsibilities. Your daily duties will encompass bedpan management, dressing, grooming assistance, toileting assistance, and support at-home physiotherapy. Additionally, you will be required to carry out light housekeeping tasks, such as cleanliness maintenance in the bathroom and kitchen, laundry, as well as meal prep. Do note that there is no need for a driver's license in this role, nor will there be a necessity for automobile use. The ability to perform bathing assistance, lifts, and transfers, patient positioning, bed baths, and catheter/colostomy care is highly essential. It is important to have experience and sensitivity in handling senior citizens who are bedridden, have suffered a stroke, diagnosed with pre-diabetes, wrestling with incontinence issues (diapers), paralysis, and trying to prevent decubitus ulcers. The preferred start date for this role is the 10th of May, 2025. If you believe this role suits your qualifications and you possess the necessary dedication, patience, and care-centric mindset, I would be more than happy to meet you. Your willingness to enhance the quality of life for our mother under your care will be greatly appreciated and respected. Additional perks include flexible hours, socializing with our cutest little boy, learning some of the newest and best physiotherapy techniques with my wife, and being part of a growing and loving family.

Caregiver in Richmond Hill - Companion/Caretaker for my 82 year old dad.
Our family is looking for someone to help my dad with day to day tasks and to provide some companionship during the week. He has mild mixed dementia which is mainly causing memory problems. He needs help remembering to take his medications, including a weekly injection, do his physio exercises, and to go to his appointments. He will also need help with some chores like doing his laundry, keeping his room and bathroom clean, and some light meal prep. Additionally, we're looking to find someone that can take him out for walks, trips to the mall, for coffees/lunches, and generally spend time with him at the house and outside, to keep him company and provide a bit of a social outlet. We're hoping to find someone experience with elder care (dementia specifically would be an asset), that can drive (a vehicle can be provided), and is capable of managing his medication adherence. We'd like someone patient, caring, creative (in terms of thinking of activities to do, places to visit, though we can work on these ideas together), somewhat outgoing, and responsible. Thank-you for reading our listing. Please reach out if interested. Looking forward to hearing from you!

I am currently seeking a full-time PSW Caregiver for Seniors, in North York, to offer a loving and supportive environment for my aging parents who are still mobile but require assistance. I am looking for someone who can work mornings, afternoons and evenings. My father, having suffered from several strokes, has dysphagia, but is still mobile with a walker. Although he is currently receiving basic personal care from Ontario Health services for 2 hours daily, we need assistance to fill in the gaps and provide caregiver relief to our aging mother. The private senior care role extends beyond basic caregiving with responsibilities including grocery shopping, meal planning and preparation (including a pureed diet for dad) and assistance with walking using a walker. The candidate must be reliable and able to take the initiative to perform tasks that enhance their quality of life. Housekeeping is a part of the job, along with laundry, and escorting them to their rehab and medical appointments, which usually happens around 3x week. Other duties include putting medications in a crushable form, taking blood sugar and blood pressure readings, light cleaning, assistance with toileting, and arranging excursions and outings for a change of environment. The role demands someone with a valid Ontario driver's license since driving them to appointments and errands. We are able to provide their vehicle to perform these errands. Prospective caregivers must be authorized to work in Canada, carrying a valid work permit or PR and SIN for tax purposes. They will be remunerated as an employee with government deductions, and a T4 tax receipt will be provided at the end of the fiscal year. The preferred start date is immediate, and the position is open to both live-in and live-out arrangements. Familiarity with, or willingness to work with, conditions such as stroke, diabetes, and incontinence (diapers) will be greatly appreciated. I am earnestly looking for a compassionate caregiver who is not just an employee but a responsive and considerate extension of our family.
