*PLEASE READ THE FULL POSTING BEFORE MESSAGING* I’m looking for a part-time Certified PSW to provide personal care to my 81 year old dad who is living in a condo in Scarborough. Currently, dad is receiving help through Home Care, but the quality of help is poor. Therefore, I’m looking at private care to see if I could find someone more suitable who could be the “right fit” and provide personal support services while I’m working. It would be for a couple of hours in the morning (8am- 11:30am) and then for a bit in the afternoon (2pm-4pm) Monday - Friday. It would be at the rate of $20/hour (but negotiable). Proof of PSW certification and references will be requested and checked. In addition, proof of Covid vaccination is required. Finally, must be willing to wear a mask while working with my dad and good hygiene is super important to my dad and I. In other words, if you plan on walking in and going straight to my dad without washing your hands first, you need not apply. Same goes for the use of gloves. If you use gloves to clean and then use those same gloves to prepare meals, you need not apply. You must know the basics of hygiene. Dad had a stroke few years ago with right side weakness, 2 hip replacements last year, showing early signs of Dementia and now bedridden. Before applying, please take note of the following: -If only some of the hours mentioned above work for you, please do NOT respond to this posting. -I’m NOT looking for a babysitter/companion. I’m looking for a certified PSW who will provide my dad with direct personal care. -This is NOT a cash job. I will be going through proper payroll procedures. -Must know how to change adult diapers. I will not provide training. -Must know how to give a sponge bath (i.e. the bed isn’t given a sponge bath, but rather the person in the bed).
