Live-In Caregiver Wanted We are looking for a great “live-in” caregiver who will enjoy looking after a fine gentleman, age 99, in a private house in the City of Nanaimo. He has medium-dementia, but is remarkably healthy, enjoys walking outside every day with his walker and caregiver, has a great sense of humour, enjoys companionship, playing board games, and his trumpet and harmonica. You will live in a fully furnished 3-bedroom house, with a yard and patio, free of COVID-19, located in north-Nanaimo close to shopping, medical clinic, library, and oceanfront. One bedroom is for him, one for you, and one for family visitors or the live-out caregiver. Duties include personal care such as bathing, pericare, assistance with toileting, dressing, simple medications, taking vital signs, companionship, and encouraging eating. Home care includes preparing healthy and delicious meals and maintaining household cleanliness. You are responsible to be home at nights in case of need or emergency (in exchange for free accommodations). You are paid a biweekly salary including CPP and EI for 40 hours of work spread over 5 days. The remaining 2 days are covered by a live-out caregiver.
