Job Description: Looking for a compassionate and caring home support worker for my mother who has stage IV cancer and needs appropriate care at home to ensure her well-being. Location: Montréal, QC H3C 2M8 Title: Home Support Worker – Senior patient with IV stage of cancer Duties: • Assist with daily activities and ensure emotional support • Help with managing medications. • Administer bedside and personal care • Prepare and serve meals • Feed or assist in feeding • Accompany to doctor appointments, when needed • Clean, organize and maintain the house as needed and as instructed. • Create and ensure a safe environment at the residence. • Light cooking and other related tasks Required Education/Experience: Have completed a secondary school diploma Have successfully completed, in this field of employment, full-time vocational training of at least 6 months in a vocational school OR Have 1 year of continuous paid experience as a caregiver Language Requirement: Knowledge of English (oral) Skills/ Qualifications: • Be reliable and punctual • Take initiative • Show good judgment • Have good intuition • Have excellent organizational skills • Be compassionate • Be a Good listener • Ability to treat patient with dignity and respect • Ability to communicate in a friendly manner Schedule for a caregiver: Wednesday: 7am- 3pm Thursday: 7am -11am (4 hours break) 3 pm-7 pm Friday: 7am -11am (4 hours break) 3 pm-7 pm Saturday: 12pm-8pm Sunday: 12pm-8pm Monday and Tuesday off Salary: 17.00/ hour for 40 hours of work Employment conditions: Work in employer’s house Work hours can slightly vary from week to week depending on the client’s health condition and needs Days off: Monday and Tuesday, but may vary Overtime can be required Social Advantages: • 10 days of vacation per year as per Quebec . • Private health insurance until RAMQ eligibility. • 5 personal days per year
