Patient Assistant and Receptionist in Medical Podiatry Office
LOCATION: Medical Podiatry Office POSITION: Our amazing employees have been with the office for over 20 years, and sadly, they will be retiring soon. We are looking for replacements for this office. The patients who come to the office are mostly elderly. Therefore, we are looking for people who are comfortable helping elderly patients with personal care, when needed. We will provide training in the initial paid trial period. We've had temporary summer students who have managed these duties very well after short training sessions. But we are now looking for permanent employees. We are currently training 1 person, and will be looking for additional 1-2 persons who are able to do reception work in the front of the office AND also help patients in the back of the office in the patient rooms. The person needs to be able to perform BOTH roles, depending on the day of work. We are a small office and need reliable and flexible employees who can cross cover duties. Reliability is a MUST. We are a small office running on a couple of staff only, and is not able to accommodate frequent or last minute schedule changes. Our office pride ourselves in friendly and outstanding care of our clients. We need people with exceptional social and verbal skills, and able to engage in cheerful conversations with clients in person, and also over the phone in English. The candidate also needs to have basic computer skills and can help do some light housekeeping of the office, including cleaning the washrooms. The candidate needs to be a quick learner and able to perform BOTH roles listed below: PATIENT ASSISTANT: -help patient into the room and onto the chair, if needed -help patient take off jacket, shoes and socks, if needed -clean patient's feet and apply medication/creams -help patient put on socks and shoes, if needed -help with minor procedures (able to tolerate sight of blood and needles) -clean and sanitize the room before and after every client -clean and sterilize instruments RECEPTION: -welcome and greet clients -help clients with mobility issues into and out of the office -answer phone calls and do appointment reminder calls -book appointments -process payments on the computer and print receipts -tidy and cleaning of office, including the washrooms REQUIREMENTS: -Willing to work evenings and weekends, when needed -Must be professional, organized, honest and reliable with a strong work ethic -Friendly with good verbal and social skills -Willingness to provide light elderly care -Knowledge of basic computer work and ability to type required -Police Check required -References required -No work visa sponsorship available DURATION: -Initial paid trial period with training -Permanent Part time with possible Permanent Full time employment, if candidate is suitable WAGE: Starting at $18/hr (up to $21/hr, depending on experience and ability) INTEREST: If interested, please leave us a note about your experience.
