I am in need of a compassionate and nurturing individual to offer companionship and personal care to an elderly lady residing in a senior care facility. The role is part-time, set to begin as soon as possible, ideally by the 12th of December, 2024. The successful applicant will need to avail themselves on weekday mornings, specifically Monday to Friday and will be required to work for around 20 to 30 hours per week. The gentle soul whom you will be caring for is an endearing lady, with mild to moderate dementia. She remembers her family and friends but tends to forget some events. Nevertheless, she carries a pleasant and somewhat whimsical demeanor that is complimented by her subdued yet appreciable sense of humor. The chosen candidate must have a driver's license and be ready to use their own car, as taking her to various appointments and social outings are amongst your duties. You'll be accompanying her to the dentist, hair salon, and local stores while also encouraging interactions with her fellow residents. Her health and physical well-being are important. She enjoys a timely regimen of exercises, including daily walks and stretching. She is recuperating wonderfully from a hip fracture that she suffered in April, and she now utilizes a walker. Your duties will involve helping her maintain these exercises and encouraging movement. Keeping her environment clean is essential. You will be required to sweep her room, clean surfaces, as well as hand stitch name tags on her clothing. Assisting in dressing and daily grooming help will also be a part of your routine.
