I’m looking for someone caring and dependable to help out with my dad, who is 86 years old. He’s a widower (my mom passed in July 2023) and honestly one of the friendliest, most patient people you’ll ever meet. He loves chatting and being around others. Dad has normal pressure hydrocephalus, which makes walking tough. Right now, he’s recovering from a knee infection and working on getting back on his feet — he’s just starting to stand with some assistance. He uses both a wheelchair and a walker, and our home is set up with grab bars, railings, and a stair lift to keep things safe. We live in Gatineau and are bilingual, but ideally we’d like someone who speaks English, since Dad feels most comfortable communicating in that language. What we need is someone who can: Be patient and supportive as he continues his rehab Help with day-to-day activities and getting around Offer companionship and encouragement along the way We’re hoping to have someone start soon, since Dad will likely be coming home from his current rehab stay in the near future.
