We are seeking a live-in caregiver for an 81-year-old female who was recently diagnosed with Vascular Parkinson's and has mobility problems, particularly in her lower body. She is originally from the Caribbean. She has lived in the Oak Bay area of Victoria with her husband for 40+ years and worked at the University of Victoria as a professor for several years. Some important qualities for her caregiver are a friendly personality, flexibility and a helpful spirit. The live-in caregiver responsibilities include: Assist with activities of daily living, including: - administering her medication, - bathing, - dressing, - grooming, - toileting, - transferring (that is, providing mobility assistance, such as, helping her in and out of bed, a chair, the wheelchair, or her rollator). - accompanying her on grocery shopping trips - accompanying her on doctor's appointments - Assisting her with her daily exercise routine which sometimes will include walks organized by her husband - Providing emotional support and encouraging her to do as much of her own care as is possible. - Providing her with companionship - Keeping her as well as her living environment clean and tidy. - Monitoring and reporting any changes in her health, behaviour, or needs. - Having a willingness to work flexible hours which will usually include waking up at least once during the night to let her urinate. No driving, cooking, or house cleaning.

We need a caregiver to help take care of our 14 year old girl at our home. She has cerebral palsy and needs help and care with her daily activities. Duties will include: direct personal care, dressing, transferring, stretching, reading, walking, bowel/bladder management, food prep, dishes, light house cleaning, laundry, the operation of lift devices. The caregiver would accompany us to her appointments, family outings and vacations. We need a caring person to assist us with a minimum three day work shift a week, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. We are also doing home schooling now and looking for someone that is open to learning/doing sign language and participating in educational activities and projects. Accommodation is available for your 3 days and nights worked. You would have your own furnished room in our home during your days of work. Travel: I travel a lot and if you enjoy travelling (costs will be covered) then that would be a bonus. I am looking for a travel assistant, but the duties can be incorporated into this job if you are interested. Job Requirements: - Educational or professional background in healthcare or experience with caregiving, is beneficial. If you are studying nursing, PT, OT etc. this is a great way to get some experience from a person with lived experience. - Compassionate and empathetic demeanour toward individuals requiring support. - Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate. - Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility. - Flexible hours and ability to commit to multiple days a week - Ability to drive is a bonus

elderly care for a 92 year old man who just had a minor stroke who has a temporarily catheter . He was fully independent before his stoke, quite active. Unfortunately he now requires assistance with dressing, showering, medication and light meals ( breakfast and lunch ) . He lives with his 2 daughters and son in law in a home in Fernwood. His native tongue is French but he does understand and speak English.

We are looking for someone to supervise my 93 dad during Saturday and Sunday from 9 to 2. We live on Haultain near Cook in Victoria. He suffered a minor stroke last February which resulted in him having to use a walker and has a catheter ( which he manages himself) . Duties would include taking him around the block for his daily walk, lunch preparation, laundry (clothes and bed) light housekeeping ( bedroom and bathroom) . He is pretty much independent and keeps himself busy a lot of the time ( Facebook and drawing). Our first language is french but he understand and can communicate in English quite well.

My name is Romy. I live in Mill Bay and my mom lives in Victoria in Glenwarren Lodge. It is difficult for me to visit my mom regularly. My aunt (my mom's sister) visits my mom frequently, however, she is getting older too. I am wanting someone to engage my mom in outings a couple of times per week for coffee or walking to look at flowers/trees. I may need some help with care for my mom's foot. She has planters fasciitis right now. My mom has dementia and so wont remember you. She loves to go for coffee and generally likes getting out of the long term care facility. She wears hearing aids and also is supposed to wear glasses - although usually she doesn't unless someone else remembers. It would be great to have someone else help me out with care for my mom.
