We are searching for a French-speaking, compassionate, attentive, and dedicated caregiver to provide companionship and care to an 84-year-old woman in the early stages of dementia. The role will require full-time, daytime dedication, delivered from Monday to Sunday during the morning and midday. The position is live-out, and requires 40-50 hours of work per week. Job responsibilities: - Ensure medication is taken according to schedule and that meals are eaten in the correct quantity and variety. - Provide assistance with dressing and grooming, alongside range of motion exercises. - Foster an environment of conversation and activity to keep her mentally stimulated and physically active. - Accompany her for occasional walks and to the grocery store for social interaction and mobility. - Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the household, including responsibilities such as housekeeping, laundry, meal planning/preparation, cleaning the bathroom, vacuuming, and washing dishes. - Attend to reminders about showering regularly and aiding in keeping track of time. - Provide specialized Alzheimer/Dementia care as necessary for her condition. The perfect candidate must be patient and willing to work with individuals with dementia. While a driver's license is not required, the caregiver will need to accompany her on occasional excursions outside the house.
