My mom lives on her own and needs just support for daily tasks that includes : Light house keeping, Help with her cat Being driven to go do errands and appointments Support walking Companionship She is located in the south side of Edmonton and having a driving license would be required as she would need to be driven around. We are looking for for about 4 to 5 hours a day 3 to 4 times a week. So about 15 to 20 hours.

We are currently looking for a compassionate and reliable person preferably female to provide all aspects of care and companionship to our 14 year old non- verbal daughter with autism in a private household. Who can apply: - Minimum college diploma is a must. - Age 20 - 45 years - Must have clear understanding of Muslim culture and food restrictions. - Must know how to cook Pakistani/Indian food. Personal suitability: Take initiative, quick learner, organized, patient, good judgment, flexibility, reliability, safety focused and team player Please note: Candidate must be physically and mentally strong to handle difficult autism related behaviors. Must be open and willing to get trained for new skills depending on the need of family. Salary: - $17-20 /hour as per skills, minimum 30- 40 hours / week (or more as needed). - Weekends will be frequently required. - Hours of work can greatly vary depending on family need, therefore punctuality and flexibility is a must . When to start: ASAP Job responsibilities include, but not limited to: - Provide personal care and companionship to our daughter with autism like bathing, personal hygiene, toileting, dressing, undressing and all the other day to day activities required for living. - Prepare her for school and escort in and out of bus. -Actively help family to execute activities/ games appropriate for her . - Plan and prepare meals and special diet and feed/assist in feeding. - Give and keep record of medication and accompany her in Doctor appointments when needed. -Perform light housekeeping such as washing dishes, laundry and other house chores as needed. - May occasionally care for siblings. Additional requirement: -CPR and First aid required -Police clearance and references required -Prior experience working with persons with disabilities is an asset. Our mother is 89 years old, utilizes a walker, and has some cognitive decline. Our father is 90 years old and suffers from dementia. They are very sweet, tidy, easy to care for, love to tell stories, and prefer to be independent as far as personal care, but they could use additional companionship and help with daily tasks or needs. The ideal candidate would prepare healthy snacks/dinners and help keep the house spotless while also providing friendship and support. Work shifts can be flexible, ranging possibly from 4 to 6 hours per shift for 3 to 5 shifts weekly depending on each shift's duration. They are not morning people and enjoy sleeping in, so shifts in the afternoon or evening covering dinner time would be ideal. Looking for candidates to help with both breakfast (served between 8-9 am) and lunch (served between 11 am- 12 pm). No meal preparation required. Patient eats in the dining room with other dementia patients. The family's goal is to keep patient in Memory Care as long as possible instead of moving to long term care.
