Liza V.
My name is Liza, and I’m an experienced, compassionate caregiver with a background in early childhood education and a deep passion for nurturing children’s growth through play, patience, and strong relationships. I’ve worked with children aged 6 months to 12 years in both centre-based and mixed-age group settings, including children with diverse needs such as ADHD, ODD, and autism. I understand the importance of adapting care to meet each child where they’re at, and I bring calm, consistency, and empathy to every interaction. As someone living with Type 1 diabetes, I also have personal experience managing chronic conditions and am confident in supporting children who may have unique health needs. I hold valid First Aid and CPR certification, as well as Child and Adult Abuse Registry checks, a Criminal Record Check, and Food Safety training. I take pride in creating safe, engaging, and inclusive environments where children feel valued and supported. Whether we're doing art, building forts, exploring outside, or navigating big emotions, I love being a trusted guide and supporter in a child's day. I also deeply value building meaningful connections with families—I believe open communication, mutual respect, and trust are the foundation of quality care. I’d love the opportunity to connect and support your family with care that feels personal, thoughtful, and reliable.
I have several years of experience working with children in both educational and recreational settings. I’ve worked in two licensed child care centres, supporting children aged 18 months to 6 years in mixed-age, play-based environments. In these roles, I helped implement emergent curriculum, guided children through social-emotional learning, and supported a wide range of developmental needs, including those with ADHD, ODD, and autism. In addition to my child care centre experience, I’ve also coached youth hockey and other sports, which has strengthened my skills in teamwork, patience, leadership, and keeping children engaged in active, goal-oriented play. My background in both early childhood education and youth coaching allows me to connect with children in a variety of ways—whether it’s helping with routines, supporting learning, or encouraging physical activity and confidence through movement.
I have my high school diploma and I am currently in University working towards my degree in Early Childhood Education. I am certified in food safety, child safety, CPR/AED, and first aid. I value Montessori practices and plan to get my certification as soon as possible!
