Sharon M.
I'm Sharon, currently based in Winnipeg. I am a passionate, committed and diligent nursing student in my third year, with two years of proven experience in childcare. With my background as a certified Health Care Aide and Unit Clerk, I have vast experience in child caring roles across hospitals, long-term care, and early childhood settings. I take pride in being known for dependability, patience, and for being a natural caregiver with an innate ability to put others first, something deeply rooted in the compassion and care I grew up with. I am able to start with you immediately, offering my services during mornings and afternoons on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and on Thursday and Sunday evenings. I am comfortable commuting as needed, given my flexibility to travel. As a non-smoker, I am capable of working with children with disabilities, prioritizing their comfort and wellbeing. My preference is a Live-out, Part-Time arrangement but I am open to discussions on this. With me, you will have more than just a nanny; I am also adept at cooking, light housekeeping, children's laundry, assisting with homework and special dietary routines amongst others. I am also capable of taking on housekeeping tasks such as, keeping the kitchen tidy, doing family laundry and cleaning the entire house. I am particularly experienced with managing children aged 3-5 years, with a maximum preference of three children. I have First Aid and CPR training, and I am a proud graduate of High School. I am open to Nanny/Housekeeping, Babysitting roles, and have a clean police check for your peace of mind. While English is my language of fluency, I am deeply impassioned about being culturally sensitive, treating all individuals with the dignity they deserve. Furthermore, my African descent offers a unique perspective that I weave seamlessly into a loving, caring environment for children. In summary, I am a driven individual, who relishes the chance to support growth in myself and others, in a manner that contributes positively to the community. I look forward to the opportunities to support you and your beautiful family!
During my time working at an Early Years Centre (EYC), I provided care and developmental support to children ranging from infants to preschool age. My responsibilities included supervising playtime, assisting with feeding and toileting, and helping children develop basic social, emotional, and communication skills in a safe and nurturing environment. I worked closely with parents and early childhood educators to implement daily routines, behavior guidance strategies, and age-appropriate learning activities. This role strengthened my ability to remain patient, adaptable, and calm in busy environments, and helped me build strong interpersonal and non-verbal communication skills—especially important when working with non-verbal or neurodiverse children. My experience at the EYC laid a strong foundation for supporting individuals with diverse developmental needs in both childcare and healthcare settings.
