Sequoia R.
My Name is Sequoia and I am a friendly and caring person with a passion for art, community, family, music, animals, and so much more ! I grew up in a family of 8 outside of the city with a huge focus on nature and cooking and art and that strongly reflects the person that I am today. I love animals, and have a very cute cat named Birdie that I live with in my Wolseley apartment, and I work at a bakery in the area. On my off time I love to spend time with my friends and family, travel as often as I can, paint, and take Birdie on walks. I am also very connected to nature, and try to live a life that shows respect to the planet, other people, animals, and my own body. I am looking for a family that believes in respect and safety for all people :) I’m currently pursuing a fine arts degree at the U of M with the plan of becoming a teacher, although I take a light course load so that I am able to work throughout the year.
I have always loved taking care of kids and have baby sat for other families as well as my younger sisters since I was a young teenager. And was a live-in nanny for a family in 2020 during the onset of covid. As a teen, I taught Sunday school (although I’m not religious) and have volunteered for 4 years at folk fest in the family area with the kids. I am currently in university to become a teacher. (I said 5 years here as a rough guess, but I’ve really always worked with kids)
I would be more than willing to get any official training (especially child CPR) before starting work.
