Teagan R.
I am compassionate, caring individual with a lot of enthusiasm. I love trying new things. In my free time you can find me, working out, swimming, going for walks/hikes. Recrestionsl beginners photography. While i am unable to drive i am quite familiar with public transportation, and if groceries need to be done or transportating kids to and from various locations are needed with permission i would be more than happy to use public transportation for those tasks. One thing thst is not necissary huge in detail but i like to be transparent to employers in case theyre concerned or have questions pertaining to the job role. My gender is non binary trans male. And i m in the middle of transitoning. I do not talk about anything that relates to that with kids unless kids have questions and with parents consent. The only thing i bring up with certsin kids of certsin ages, is just terms in knowing how to refer to me as when talking to or about me. While this is a part of who i am this is not my whole identity. If you have any questions as long as they are appropiate and needed to know based of job description, feel free to ask. The reason why I make ghis transparent is knowing kids, its important for them to feel safe and comfortable with their care givers( lesson intstructors, teachers, parents, nanny, etc. Sometimes gender and appearance can affect their levels of comfort, depending on if they have had any negative experiences. I acknowledge and am aware of those barriers, and that is why i choose to be transparent. Also to any kids that may feel similarily about their gender, i am comofortable in working with them, knowing any challenges that might come up with that and feel comfortable enough to help the kid feel comfortable being who they are no matter who that is, as that is what helps shape our development.
Babysitting, summer camp supervision, swim instruction, and working with children ranging in age from 2 to 17 years old are some of my experiences. I have had the privilege of working with children with various needs and disabilities, such as FASD, ADHD, autism, epilepsy, and diabetes. I hold certifications in lifeguarding, swim instruction, and first aid, which has equipped me to respond effectively to emergencies. I have responded to various first aid situations in the past, including cuts, sprains, broken bones, head injuries, seizures, and diabetic shock.
