Leigha S.
I am a registered nurse who recently graduated from the University of Manitoba. I am currently in the process of registering in British Columbia, which has proven to be quite lengthy. While I wait for that to be completed, I would love to have the opportunity to care for your child/children. During my senior practicum, I worked on the postpartum unit at St. Boniface Hospital, providing me with a wealth of experience working with babies. Additionally, I have experience working on the pediatric unit at Health Sciences Centre. In my free time, I volunteer at a local animal shelter where I take the dogs out for walks and thoroughly enjoy it. I also have a passion for cooking, baking, reading, and participating in various workout classes. If you believe that I would be a good fit for your family, I would be thrilled to hear from you!
I babysat for a variety of families from the ages of 12 to 15. When I was 15, I also moved into my uncle’s home to watch his two children for the summer. My mother, who was in the military, would have to leave for many extended trips. From ages 14-17, I would look after the house and my younger brother while she was gone short-term. At 17, she moved away for a couple of years and I maintained the house while caring for my younger brother. When I was 16, I took part in a service trip to Nicaragua to teach local youth English from lesson plans I created! Now, I am a third-year nursing student with hopes of going into pediatric nursing.
I am a registered nurse and have a bachelor degree in nursing from the University of Manitoba.
