Laura O.
My name is Laura, but kids call me Lala. I am based in Whitby, Ontario. I am currently looking for a family that needs support during the summer months! I love the Arts, making age-appropriate activities that promote learning and fun (indoors & outdoors). - People describe me as warm, compassionate, and nurturing. - Children describe me as creative, fun, and kind. - I describe myself as reliable, responsible, & trustworthy. Working with children is truly my passion--hence my career choice of becoming a teacher. My top priority is to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where kids can thrive. I understand how difficult it can be to leave your child in someone else’s care—especially at first—but I’m here to ease those worries. I promise to treat your child with care, kindness, patience, and attentiveness. I am certified in CPR & First Aid and have an up-to-date VSS, giving you peace of mind that your child(ren) are in capable hands. Let’s connect! If you're interested in my service, I’d love to set up a meet-and-greet prior to starting to help build trust and comfort with you and your child(ren). And I’m happy to provide references from families I’ve worked with. Also, please feel free to ask me any questions, I'd be happy to answer them. Let me be a positive part of your child’s day:)
I have about 8 years of hands-on experience caring for children of all ages—from infants to school-aged children. I’ve gained this experience by helping my mom run her home daycare, working at an art studio for 6 years where I led children's art classes, babysitting part-time up to 3 children throughout my high school years and undergraduate years, and volunteering at Montessori child daycares. I'm currently working toward completing my Bachelor of Education.
