Haidar A.
I am a caring and dependable person with a strong passion for working with children. Originally from Indonesia, I moved to Montreal to complete my studies in Early Childhood Education, and I am now in my final semester. I live in Verdun with my uncle’s family, where I often help with household tasks such as gardening, pool care, cleaning, and setting up electronic appliances — I enjoy being hands-on and responsible. I grew up with four siblings in a close-knit family, so caring for children has always been a natural part of my life. One of my favorite ways to connect with children is through storytelling — whether it’s reading books together, sparking conversation to develop their language skills, or sharing my own travel experiences. I love telling them about adventures like seeing a real-life Komodo dragon, diving with sea turtles and sharks, or swimming alongside clownfish in their natural habitat. These stories not only capture children’s imagination but also encourage curiosity about the world. Outside of childcare, I love music (I sing and play guitar in English and French), cooking (I even make my own tempeh and have professional kitchen experience), and exploring the outdoors. I am also a certified open water diver and enjoy discovering new activities that keep me active and curious. Friends and families describe me as patient, hardworking, and creative. I bring these qualities into my work with children, where I strive to create safe, fun, and meaningful experiences that support their growth and happiness.
I bring a strong background in child development, with both international and Canadian experience. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (2019, Indonesia) and worked for three years as a psychologist assistant and child therapist, supporting children of various ages, including those with special needs. This gave me a deep understanding of emotional support, behavior guidance, and developmental milestones. Since moving to Quebec, I have been completing my Early Childhood Education (ECE) program (currently in my final semester) while gaining hands-on experience in local childcare settings: CPE, Verdun (2024): Substitute educator during summer. Private daycare, Verdun (2025): Internship followed by full-time educator role, responsible for a group of 4–5 year-olds. Inclusive daycare, Downtown Montreal (2025): Current internship with preschoolers, supporting children with diverse needs. While much of my recent work has been with preschoolers, I am comfortable caring for children of all ages — from infants to school-aged — thanks to my therapy background and family babysitting experience. I love engaging children through storytelling (from books, conversations, or my own travel adventures like swimming with sea turtles or seeing a real Komodo dragon), music (singing and guitar in English and French), and cooking (I have two years of professional kitchen experience and a food safety certificate). These activities help children develop language, curiosity, creativity, and independence in a fun and safe way. I am CPR/First Aid certified, fluent in English and French (plus Indonesian, Javanese, and Malay, while learning Turkish and Spanish), and families describe me as patient, reliable, and creative. My goal is always to provide a safe, supportive, and enriching environment where children can thrive.
