Virginia K.
I’m Virginia, a Montreal-based nanny and household manager with professional experience caring for children from birth through the school years, as well as the invaluable perspective of having raised four children of my own into young adulthood. After working with the same family for the past three years, their children are now entering daycare, and I am searching for a new family (or families) to begin working with in September 2026, in either full-time or part-time capacities. I offer warm, attentive, and developmentally informed care, combined with the calm, steady presence families value in a well-run home. I am highly dependable, intuitive, autonomous, and skilled at anticipating daily needs, helping both children and parents feel supported. I believe in creating a balanced and nurturing rhythm for children each day through reading, outdoor time, play, art and music, and age-appropriate learning. My degree in creative writing allows me to naturally encourage strong English language development, communication skills, and a lasting love of books and stories. I have experience traveling internationally as a nanny, as well as providing in-home weekend-long and week-long childcare during parent trips and holidays. Alongside my experience, I bring a strong interest in child development and am currently completing my certification as a paediatric sleep consultant, allowing me to offer thoughtful guidance on healthy sleep routines. I also have training as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), focusing on positive reinforcement and emotional regulation to support children's behavior. I support parents through the many stages of raising a family, including mother-focused childcare during the postpartum period. I have extensive newborn experience and can provide both daytime support and overnight care for restful nights. In household management, I ensure everything runs smoothly and errands are taken care of by keeping an inventory of household needs, including grocery shopping. I create weekly meal plans and prepare delicious homemade meals for the whole family—always respecting any dietary needs, allergies, or restrictions—while bringing my university-level education in the biology of nutrition into my cooking. Household management is tailored to each family’s unique needs and can include pet care and dog walking, plant care, organization of wardrobes and closets, and travel organization, among other tasks. I am CPR and FoodSafe certified, hold a clear police check and a clean driving record, a valid driver’s license and a valid passport, I am a strong swimmer, and I have excellent employer references available upon request. My 2026 Rates: $32/hour: Child-focused care and with age appropriate meal preparation, including children’s laundry, light tidying, and planned outings (such as library visits, playgroups, museums, nature walks, and farmers' markets). $38/hour: Child-focused care, family laundry, detailed tidying of common spaces, kitchen and play areas, and planned outings, plus family meal planning, grocery errands, and homemade dinner preparation (tailored to your family's dietary needs). $42/hour: Household management (meal planning, errands, dinner preparation, and detailed, deeper cleaning) with flexible supportive childcare as needed, such as school drop off and pick up, sick days, and school closures. Evening and Overnight rate / Travel or Holiday Care: To be discussed, based on specific family needs.
