My name is Lauryne and I am a university student at Brock University. I am currently enrolled in the Concurrent Education program with a major in Child and Youth studies. My goal is to be a Kindergarten teacher once I graduate. I aspire to work daily with young children and to play a crucial role in their development. I come from a family of six, with two younger siblings. I have always taken on the role of "Mom" when caring for them. My youngest sibling is twelve years younger than I am and I have played a significant role in providing care for him. I recognize the importance of developing a loving bond and fostering a close relationship with my siblings. I have experience in changing diapers, feeding young children, assisting in sleep training, language development skills, and supporting early literacy and math skills. Since I was old enough, I took every opportunity to babysit young children, whether it was a family member or a neighbour. I am a dedicated and enthusiastic babysitter with a passion for creating a safe, engaging, and enjoyable environment for children of all ages. I understand the importance of fostering a loving and supportive atmosphere while maintaining a structured routine that encourages learning and development. I understand that leaving your child with someone new can be daunting. That's why I prioritize open communication, attentiveness, and building trust with both the child and parents to ensure a seamless and enjoyable babysitting experience. In addition, I have experience supporting children with special needs. Last summer I worked with 2 teenage boys on the autism spectrum. They were minimally verbal and low-functioning. I assisted with teaching them how to read and write as well as providing activities for them to keep them entertained and happy. Due to this experience as well as helping in the special education classes at school, am comfortable caring for children with special needs. I would love the opportunity to discuss how I can be of assistance to your family and creating a nurturing environment for your child. Please feel free to reach out to further discuss your needs. Thank you for considering me as your babysitter! Experience: I have babysat 2 children for the past 6 years. They were ages 4 and 7 when I started. I would work in the morning from 5am until 9am, waking them up, feeding them, and getting them ready and to school on time. I would also work after school until the parents got home from work. I would pick them up from the bus, walk them home, feed them, and entertain them. I ensured a safe and happy environment, where they would be excited for me to come. On top of that I have watched my young cousins and siblings from newborn to age 12.

There's a genuine sense of joy that overcomes me when I spend quality time with children. I am passionate about dedicating a considerable amount of my day to their company, exploring their personalities and individuality as we engage in various activities. I truly enjoy crafting creative activities for them, such as engaging games or crafting sessions, ensuring that our time together isn't just enjoyable, but also conducive to their overall development. I love experiencing the great outdoors with the kids. Whether it's simply taking a leisurely stroll through the park. Another activity I am particularly fond of is playing basketball with kids. It's an amazing experience, being able to teach them the rules of the game, and alongside, instilling the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. Not only does it enhance their physical agility, but it significantly contributes to their character building as well. In essence, engaging with children, whether it's within the confines of a house or out in the open, is an experience I deeply love and cherish. ● Performed a variety of administrative tasks. ● Ensured a safe and secure environment. ● Helped with the preparation of food. ● Ensured a comfortable learning environment.

I am a dedicated and caring Brock student with a passion for nurturing children's growth and development. As an aspiring teacher, I find joy in fostering meaningful connections and supporting the journey through childhood. Volunteering has been a cornerstone of my journey, allowing me to connect deeply with communities and understand the importance of empathy and support. I have been immensely blessed to have had many opportunities to volunteer within my community but also to participate in community outreach programs that work to service various communities across Ontario. In addition to volunteering, I am also very passionate about the arts, I spent most of my free time as a teenage and child engaging in community theatre as well as taking on mentoring roles within theatre companies. Moreover, I spend most of my free time now engaging in art at a more individual level on a quite night in I enjoy painting, scrapbooking, or drawing. I tend to take this passion for art and bring it into my work with children as I find immense joy in sparking creativity and imagination in children through arts and crafts. I am very passionate about time spent outdoors, in my own life I strive to spend as much time outside as possible, from hiking to spending the day at the beach, to building snowmen I try my hardest to create endless opportunities for exploration and adventure a skill that I often bring into nannying. Aspiring to become a teacher, I am committed to providing nurturing environments where children feel valued, inspired, and empowered to discover their passions and potential. With a blend of enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine care for children, I am excited to embark on this journey of growth and learning as a dedicated nanny. Drawing from a wide range of experiences in childcare, mentoring, and tutoring, I offer a unique blend of skills and a heartfelt dedication to fostering the well-being and development of children. During a fourth month period in the summer of 2021 I had the opportunity to care for two lively boys on a full-time basis. In my role as their nanny, I carefully planned engaging daily activities tailored to their interests. From arts and crafts to outdoor explorations, I aimed to ignite their curiosity and creativity while ensuring a safe environment. Beyond playtime, I assisted with essential tasks such as feeding and bathing. Whether we were preparing healthy meals together or winding down with bedtime stories, I cherished every moment spent with them. In addition to my summer nannying experience, I have had the privilege of babysitting for family friends in my teenage years. Through these opportunities, I honed my ability to adapt to different family dynamics and cater to the unique needs of each child. Building trust and rapport with both children and parents alike has been a rewarding aspect of my journey as a caregiver. Most recently, I have also embarked on a new journey as a tutor. Through personalized guidance and support, I aim to assist students in reaching their full potential and achieving academic success. Lastly, I also have taken on a role as a big sister for the Big Brother Big Sister program in Niagara. Becoming a mentor and role model for young minds has been incredibly fulfilling, as I guide and support them socially and emotionally.
