Eden T.
I am a responsible, dedicated, and highly experienced childcare provider and tutor currently pursuing an Honours Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Waterloo, where I am developing strong knowledge of child development, learning strategies, and emotional support techniques. My long-term goal is to work in childcare and pediatric psychology, which motivates me to create safe, nurturing, and structured environments where children can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. I have extensive hands-on experience caring for children of various ages and needs, including supervising multiple children at once, supporting homework and learning activities, organizing creative play, and maintaining routines with patience and attentiveness. I am known for being dependable, organized, and calm under pressure, with strong communication skills that help me build trusting relationships with both children and families. In addition to childcare, I have leadership experience in student organizations and community initiatives, which reflects my maturity, responsibility, and teamwork skills. My interests include swimming, sports, creative activities, and educational engagement with children, all of which I incorporate into my caregiving style to keep kids active, engaged, and happy. Employers describe me as warm, professional, adaptable, and genuinely passionate about helping young people succeed. I take pride in being punctual, prepared, and attentive to detail, and I always strive to exceed expectations by providing high-quality, reliable care that families can feel confident in.
I gained extensive hands-on childcare experience in Barbados through multiple babysitting roles, where I provided attentive, nurturing care for children ranging primarily from 3 months to 13 years old, and occasionally up to age 15. Across these positions, I was trusted to supervise up to six children at once while still meeting each child’s individual emotional and developmental needs. My responsibilities included preparing meals, organizing creative games and activities, maintaining routines, and ensuring a safe, positive environment at all times. I have successfully worked with children with special needs, including autistic children, and have also supported overly attached children who had never previously been separated from their parents, helping them feel secure, comfortable, and confident under my care. In addition to my hands-on work, I created and manage my own babysitting Instagram page to showcase my services, communicate with families, and share engaging activity ideas, demonstrating both professionalism and initiative in promoting high-quality childcare.
