Why do I seek out babysitting and child care work? I love to work with kids because it’s such a privilege to be a witness to their growth, and if I’m lucky I might be able to help them with their goals and development! My name is Kai, I am 23 years old, and working with kids, whether as a coach or babysitter has been a passion of mine since I started babysitting toddlers and young children at age 12. By age 13 I started babysitting a high-support needs child with autism (they prefer person first language) in my community. This began my journey learning about the significant gaps in accessibility for children with special needs and the impacts on the entire family when left without the proper support. By age 15 I’d started my first job as a Martial Arts Instructor for children ages 3+. We focused on both the sport but also values such as respect, confidence, and discipline. I later went on to coach parkour to children ages 1.5+ as well! As I grow and enter into new phases of my life, I always came back to working with kids. I have experience working with children ages 1 and up in both a coaching and caring for/babysitting capacity. I am excited to be a part of your child/children’s growth and development, and I hope to build a respectful, kind, and caring relationship with your family!
