Ella W.
My name is Ella and I am a highly experienced Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) as well as a nanny. One thing you'll find distinctive about me is my deep-rooted passion for early childhood development and high-quality childcare. This is a field that I not only chose as a career but it also shaped my lifestyle in many different (and very positive!) ways. Having experience in this field spanning well over 3 and a half years, my professional skillset as an ECA is versatile and I am able to adapt to regular family routines quickly. During these years, I've had wonderful times working with premier childcare organizations such as Kids & Company, KidLogic, and BrightStarts CELC. This exposure has given me a unique perspective into different methods and pedagogical approaches that are crucial for efficient and effective early childhood education and care. In terms of the age group of children I have worked with: it's wide ranging. From infants as young as 9 months to preteens up to 12 years old. My experience covers a spectrum that is broad, providing me with the practical understanding of varying developmental needs, teaching techniques and specific care requirements that are crucial for each phase of a child's growth. This experience also covers children with severe allergies/food intolerances, communication difficulties, ASD, down syndrome, and other developmental conditions. I look forward to growing, learning and further nurturing my skills in early childhood development and childcare.
I have experience in both professional childcare centers and home childcare settings. I’ve worked as an ECA and supply ECE at Kids & Company (Oakville), a summer and infant ECA at KidLogic (Oakville), and as a student ECA at BrightStarts Cooperative Early Learning Centre in Waterloo. I am experienced with looking after large groups of children at once, so I am completely comfortable looking after 1-5 children.
