Mira C.
My name is Mira, I'm 21 years old, a Filipino female, and currently in my third year of studying Environment and Business at the University of Waterloo. I come from a big family of 10 - six brothers and one sister - which has helped me develop strong interpersonal skills and the ability to get along with many different personalities. I am very excited to be an auntie to many kids and work as a babysitter. I am passionate about the environment and love outdoor activities. I stay involved within my school community and recently worked at the Ecology Lab, where I helped maintain natural gardens and assisted with biology projects. I also have worked in digital marketing for multiple institutes in Waterloo. In my free time, I enjoy music, cooking, reading, and painting, and I am very pet-friendly - I have three dogs and two cats! I would describe myself as responsible, adaptable, and someone who values rules and safety. I always aim to do what’s best for myself and those around me. I have extensive childcare experience, thanks to my mom, who has been a daycare provider for nearly 20 years. Growing up in that environment, I spent much of my life helping care for children of various ages, from creating fun crafts and organizing engaging activities to providing healthy meals and maintaining a safe, nurturing space. Additionally, I have been actively involved with my neighborhood camp for almost 10 years, where I advanced to a leadership role. I completed training focused on creating a safe and welcoming atmosphere for kids, further developing my skills in supervision, conflict resolution, and team-building. I am passionate about working with children and bringing positive energy to any opportunity. I look forward to using my childcare experience, leadership skills, and creativity to make a meaningful impact!
My mom has been a daycare provider for nearly 20 years, so I’ve always been around kids and naturally got involved in caring for them. I’ve helped with daycare and night care, walked kids to school, and spent many of my summers taking care of children. I’ve also volunteered at camps, where I gained leadership training experience. I’ve worked with kids from 1-year-old babies to middle schoolers, and I’m comfortable adapting to different ages and needs. I enjoy keeping things light-hearted, whether it’s reading stories, playing games, or organizing simple activities. I always focus on creating a safe, positive, and fun atmosphere where kids feel cared for and comfortable!
