I am a recent UVic graduate. I received my degree in English and will be eventually going into teaching. Children have always been a big part of my life as I grew up taking care of many of my younger siblings and cousins. I took my personal experience and began babysitting and nannying into my high school and university years. I am well versed in literature and history, but still enjoy doing creative activities such as make believe, crafts and music. I have 3-4 years of babysitting and full time nannying experiences. Prior to those I volunteered at summer day camps and day cares. I’ve worked with babies as young as 2 months and children up to 14 years of age. I have taken Baby-sitting CPR courses, and I am currently volunteering at a local elementary kindergarten class for volunteer hours to use towards my secondary teaching program and have gone through the process of getting my criminal background checked and cleared. In Victoria I have worked with two families the past two years, the first family had a 5 month baby who was my primary focus and his older 2 year old sister. I would take the children out for walks, clean, and make dinner while the parents worked. The second family was more casual in the summer, giving the kids lunch and taking them outside to play, occasionally having to stay inside due to the heat and finding crafts

My name is Sheza. I come from a warm, close-knit family and currently live in Victoria while pursuing my studies in psychology. I have over two years of hands-on caregiving experience—two years working in pain and palliative care, and as a dedicated nanny. My background in palliative care has given me a deep sense of empathy, patience, and calm under pressure, all of which translate beautifully into my childcare approach. As a nanny, I’ve cared for children ranging from infants to early school-age, supporting their daily routines, emotional well-being, and development in a safe and engaging environment. I’m attentive, nurturing, and passionate about creating meaningful connections with the children and families I work with. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading, organizing spaces, nature walks, and learning about child psychology. I bring a calm, reliable, and kind-hearted presence into every home, and I’m committed to supporting children in a way that aligns with each family’s unique values and needs. I have over two years of caregiving experience, including two years as a nanny and two years working in pain and palliative care. My time in palliative care taught me deep empathy, patience, and how to provide both emotional and physical support with sensitivity—skills that naturally extend to childcare. As a nanny, I cared for children of various ages, supporting their daily routines, nutrition, hygiene, playtime, and learning in a safe, nurturing environment. I’m attentive to children’s emotional needs, quick to respond in emergencies, and always strive to create a space where children feel heard, supported, and cared for. My combined background has shaped me into a reliable, compassionate, and calm caregiver who families can depend on.

I am Ritu! Firstly, let me tell you that I am a fresh face here in the magnificent city of Victoria. Originally, I hail from the lovely province of Saskatchewan and I can't help but bring a piece of my heart from there to this new location. In terms of my professional background, I have an acquired expertise and hands-on experience in Early Childhood Education (ECE). The field of ECE has always been my passion and I strive to apply my learnings and skills to help in the nurturing and development of young minds. Gracing my personal background, I am a proud mother to my two lovely children, as I manage a traditional Indian household. Furthermore, I am an absolute enthusiast when it comes to engaging with children through various forms of activities. I have a special inclination towards craftwork and outdoor ventures. I believe crafting and outdoor activities help stimulate the creativity and curiosity within a child, therefore, I incorporate these into our daily routine. I also derive immense pleasure in reading out stories to children, especially at their naptimes. Sharing exciting tales of heroes and adventures with them are my personal favourites. These storytelling sessions not only help children explore their imagination but also encourages in them a love for reading. Moreover, resemblant to Mary Poppins, I am more than happy to lend a hand with household chores, specifically those that are associated with managing and caring for children. Not only am I adept at handling children's needs, but I also enjoy contributing to the overall smooth running of the household. In conclusion, I am thrilled to be a part of the Victoria community, and I eagerly look forward to new opportunities and experiences that come along my way. Early Childhood Educator for 3 years in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan at NewLeaf Daycare, Saskatoon. Have experience with all ages!
