Alana A.
Alongside my childcare experience, I’ve always worked as a farmer and love educating kids on harvesting, plants, and natural medicine. I believe it’s such a gift for children to connect with the land and learn where their food and healing herbs come from. I’m Métis/Indigenous and half Colombian, and my roots inspire the way I show up with respect, generosity, and heart. I’m also a Vinyasa Flow Yoga teacher “Quantum Yoga” and also teaching at “Yoga Hub”. I also went to school for holistic nutrition so I naturally bring movement, mindfulness, and healthy living into childcare. Community is very important to me — I volunteer at “Good Food Box” for low-income families and love giving back in ways that support connection and care. Families often describe me as reliable, creative, and compassionate. My background in farming, yoga, nutrition, and music means I bring a playful, well-rounded approach to childcare. Whether we’re exploring outdoors, cooking together, practicing gentle yoga, or making art and music, I love giving kids experiences that help them grow curious, confident, and connected. 🌈
I’m a warm, experienced nanny looking for a part-time or full-time position ASAP. I’m certified in Infant and Child First Aid & CPR and have worked with children ages 12 months to 5 years old. I love supporting little ones through their early developmental milestones with patience, creativity, and lots of heart. 🌈 Over the past few years, I’ve cared for two wonderful 18-month-olds (each for a year) around the Oak Bay area, so I know the neighbourhood and its family spots really well. I’ve also supported many families near Fairfield and Cook Street, building strong bonds and lasting relationships — I still keep in touch with most of the families and kiddos I’ve nannyed! 💕 I’m especially passionate about spending time outdoors — whether it’s nature walks, playground adventures, or garden play. I also love sharing music with the children I care for, from gentle lullabies to fun sing-alongs (I play guitar too!). 🎸 While I don’t drive, I’m hoping to find a role within Victoria or nearby areas that are accessible by transit. 🚴♀️ Families who’ve hired me describe me as caring, reliable, and communicative. I believe in providing consistent routines, gentle guidance, and lots of creativity. My goal is always to create a safe, joyful, and nurturing space where children can explore, grow, and feel loved. References from past families are available upon request. ✨ Looking forward to connecting with the right family! 💫
