Natalie M.
I’m a 22 year old, recent university graduate from Uvic, with a major in psychology with a focus on child development and mental health, and a minor in Indigenous Studies. My studies have given me a deep understanding of children's emotional and cognitive needs, which I use to foster positive, supportive environments for them. I have experience working with children through babysitting, tutoring, and as a swim instructor. Children tend to gravitate towards me because of my calm demeanor and ability to remain patient in stressful situations. I believe my logical, quick-thinking approach helps me handle challenges with ease and create a safe, enjoyable space for children to thrive. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors—whether it's hiking, going for walks, or simply enjoying nature. I also love engaging in crafts, reading, and playing guitar and piano. I take pride in keeping things tidy and organized, which I believe contributes to creating a structured and peaceful environment for children. I’m single and live independently, and I am eager to support families by offering a reliable, nurturing, and fun caregiving experience.
Growing up, I babysat for many families in my hometown for several years, looking after children of various ages. Additionally, I worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor, teaching swimming lessons to children aged 3-12. I also have experience tutoring children, primarily in grades 3-4, in reading in both English and French. Although I have not worked as a nanny in the past, I have substantial experience with children of different ages in various settings. I am certified in first aid and recently graduated from UVic with a major in psychology focusing on child development and mental health.
