Avery P.
My name is Avery and it's lovely to be connecting with you. I am an experienced, responsible, and highly adaptable caregiver with a strong background in supporting infants, children, and teens of all abilities. I have worked as both a full-time and part-time care aide, specializing in assisting neurotypical children as well as those with Autism, diabetes, PANDAS, epilepsy, Down syndrome, and various physical and cognitive disabilities. I am confident in handling toileting, hygiene, dressing, and mobility needs, and I have extensive experience using AAC systems for nonverbal children—including programming updates when necessary. I believe in fostering a positive, engaging, and inclusive environment through play, creativity, and engagement. Whether it’s taking children to activities, going on outings, assisting with homework, or providing household support, I strive to make life better for both kids and parents. In addition to my caregiving experience, I am a creative and active individual. I am about to graduate with a BFA in Theatre from the University of Victoria, and I love storytelling, painting, drawing, and outdoor activities. I am an aspiring actor and love to perform, as well as a stage manager, so I know how to juggle many balls and communicate well. I am an avid traveler and enjoy backpacking. I recently returned from a big trip in Vietnam for 1 month and have explored much of southeast Asia and Europe. I'd be happy to come with you or support you in any family adventures you may go on. I am also an experienced cook and baker and am more than happy to help with meal preparation and household tasks. I have my advanced driver’s license, but I do not currently own a vehicle. I am very comfortable using transit and could also use a family vehicle if available with your kids. I take pride in being reliable, patient, and highly adaptable. My goal is always to create a safe, supportive, and enriching environment where children can thrive. If you're looking for a dedicated, responsible, and creative caregiver, I would love to connect and see how I can best support your family! Looking forward to hearing from you!
