Jessie W.
I have resided and studied in this pocket of the island for almost seven years after living on the Sunshine Coast for most of my life. I am a single newly-graduated Early Childhood Educator, but I have been working in the field for over 5 years in a variety of different childcare settings. I've always loved private care as I find it allows for so much more interpersonal connection with the families of the children I work with, which I find fundamentally important when working with children this age. Being able to learn alongside them in their everyday life allows for genuine curiosity to guide how they learn about the world and their part in it. They develop a strong sense of self and confidence when feeling properly supported in all aspects of their development. Families deserve the opportunity to play a significant role in their child's learning, and what better way than to work alongside caregivers in supporting their child's development. I also incorporate art into a lot of the work I do, whether that be visual, musical, or nature-based, as I find it an excellent catalyst for early learning. I find time outdoors to be incredibly beneficial for infants and toddlers, so I also incorporate time outside into a lot of my time with children.
