Carla T.
My name is Carla, and I’m an infant-qualified nanny from Peru, currently pursuing a master’s degree in psychology. I come from a big, loving family and have two younger siblings I absolutely adore, which inspired my passion for working with children. I took care of my now 7-year-old brother since he was born, and from then on I started gaining experience with infants and learning more about their development. I’m bilingual in English and Spanish, and I’m also learning French, which helps me connect with families from diverse backgrounds. My childcare philosophy is rooted in the Montessori approach, focusing on fostering baby development through sensory play and activities that stimulate their senses. I tailor every experience to encourage curiosity, creativity, and confidence. I am experienced in following routines and pay close attention to babies’ wake windows, ensuring they get the rest they need. I follow parents' preferred methods for naps and feeding times, keeping detailed records of everything. I also have experience with baby-led weaning and love supporting babies as they explore new foods and textures. Weather permitting, I enjoy taking babies outside to explore the world around them. I prioritize engaging with them through conversation, interaction, and play, always fostering their development in a warm, loving way. When I’m not caring for little ones, I love staying active whether it’s spending time outdoors, playing volleyball, jogging, or enjoying the company of my friends and family. My goal is to become a reliable and nurturing adult figure in a child’s life, creating a safe and loving environment where they can thrive. Every baby I’ve worked with has left a lasting impression on my heart, and I’m committed to helping them grow, learn, and feel loved every step of the way. 🌟
I am Carla, a warm and energetic Peruvian nanny who is currently completing a part-time master's degree in Psychology (with a minor in Child Psychology) at York University. I am fully vaccinated and certified in infant CPR. I have experience working as an Au Pair for two wonderful families, including caring for infant twins, as well as caring for multiple children ranging from newborns to early childhood. Additionally, I have worked at a Montessori education daycare where I incorporated developmental activities such as singing, reading, and sensory play during tummy time. I also have experience in gentle sleep training, swaddling, bathing, and giving massages to relieve colic. While the baby naps, I enjoy tidying up their play area, doing their laundry, and assisting with other tasks to help parents relax in the evening and spend more time with their little one.
